On the World day of action against the border death regime, to demand truth, justice, and reparation for the victims of migration and their families, the Socio-Legal Clinic “Discrimination, Movements, Rights” of the University of Parma, within the PRIN Project “MOBS – Mobilities, solidarities and imaginaries across the borders”, together with Ciac, Migrantour Parma, CSV Emilia, Arte Migrante Parma, ArtLab, Gruppo Mission, Amnesty International Parma, and Ester APS, are organizing a meeting for testimony and reflection on the theme of violence and death in migratory journeys to Europe and the responsibilities of border management policies in the Mediterranean area.

  • Presentation by representatives of the CommemorAction Network
  • Live connection with Vincenza Pellegrino (University of Parma) and Luca Queirolo Palmas (University of Genoa) and with activists from Mauritania engaged in the struggle for the memory of people who disappeared during their migration journey
  • Testimonies from people who have personally experienced the consequences of migration policies
  • Valentina Delli Gatti, Mem.Med.

For more than thirty years, the violence of the border regime has continued to produce deaths and disappearances along migration routes. The families and relatives of the victims, together with associations and all those who fight for an equal right to mobility, have never stopped demanding truth and justice.
