The 14th and 15th of May, the University of Parma's equipe with its socio-legal clinic, will host a two-day international conference exploring the stories and collective memories of movement, migration, and transit across the Mediterranean region.
16th and 17th June. The workshop Representing the border: the wide space and long time of people on the move with Vincenza Pellegrino and Jacopo Anderlini from the University of Parma, the visual researcher Opher Thomson and the anthropologist Piero Gorza, will be held in Val di Susa the 16th and 17th of June.
The workshop is held within the framework of the Sociological-Legal Clinics Migrations and Frontiers, promoted by the University of Parma with the University of Naples "L'Orientale" and the collaboration of Ciac onlus, Italian Red Cross - Susa Committee, Diaconia Valdese, Mediterranea, Doctors Without Borders and Migrantour Parma.
These meetings are intended to encourage an open discussion on the possibility of representing the border in a different way, far from the feeling of emergency, helping to reflect both on the way in which each stage and each passage is preceded and followed by another one: on the fact that in each stage there are other passages and other migrations. The public events will be based on photographic materials and ethnographic notes collected over months of research in different Italian frontiers, across mountain and maritime spaces.
